Behind every journey, someone who has lived it

I am an engineer. I studied at the Technical University of Munich and completed a postgraduate programme at INSEAD. For 20 years I negotiated strategic F&B and travel contracts for Fortune 500 multinationals (Nestlé, Philip Morris International, Cargill). That part of my life taught me to read a contract, to separate real luxury from expensive luxury, and to know exactly what something is worth.

I always wanted to work in travel. When I was younger I couldn't study hotel management, so I learned by travelling: more than 50 countries visited, 10–15 trips a year, a personal passion for historic hotels tied to historic moments.

In 2025 I founded Taivas Signature. It isn't a beginning: it is the culmination of 20 years applying strategic procurement discipline to the world I always wanted to inhabit.

I am the father of three children aged 6, 10 and 12. I design every trip knowing that an itinerary must work simultaneously for a child who still tires in the afternoon, a pre-teen who needs challenge, and a teenager you have to engage with something real. I also travel regularly with my widowed mother, from whom I inherited this passion. Multigenerational travel is one of my specialisms.

I speak Spanish, English (bilingual), German (intermediate) and French (basic). I have lived in Germany, China, the United States, Switzerland and Barcelona. My base today is Madrid.
